The Coolest Costumes We Spotted at Raymond Gutierrez’s The New Nocturnals Party

Celebrities Came Out For This Exclusive Halloween Hunt.

Halloween is the one night of the year when creativity takes a physical form. On October 29, Raymond Gutierrez and Ash Rye’s The New Nocturnals party made its dark-glam return to Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati. The evening was draped heavily in Regency-era satin. The room ran hot, but no one seemed to mind; the crowd was far too occupied angling their best profiles beneath the marquee lights.

Cinema, Sci-Fi, and the Death of Low-Effort Cosplay

Halloween in Manila used to default to a predictable landscape of haphazard superhero spandex and rushed face paint. Mond Gutierrez’s annual iteration, however, operates on a radically higher frequency. This is nightlife reimagined as cinematic performance art.

The celebrities in attendance didn’t just dress up to uplift the holiday spirit; they committed entirely to the narrative world-building of their chosen personas.

The floor became a living gallery: Dune-inspired Arrakis stillsuits paired with flowing dust drapes, full Na’vi body paint executed with anatomical precision, and early-2000s camp nostalgia courtesy of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

Elsewhere, Top Gun aviators held court in flight suits, while gothic Victorian anchored the room in dark elegance.

Gutierrez himself presided over the chaos in an aristocratic, high-collared ensemble that felt equal parts Romantic poet and high-fashion vampire king.

Lessons in Dark-Hour Party Dressing

What separated this year’s crowd from the standard red-carpet circuit was a collective willingness to abandon the safe middle ground. It takes a rare kind of social gravity to convince Manila’s creative elite to trade their comfortable evening wear for heavy armor plating, gilded metallic muscle suits, or floor-length tailored overcoats.

As the lights flickered toward dawn, the party inevitably spilled past the marquee signage. Nobody looked tired. In a city that far too often defaults to playing it safe after dark, Gutierrez’s cinematic circus proved one thing: the night still belongs to those who dress for it.
