Everyone Came Out for the GQ Philippines Launch Party

At The Night Club in Okada, Billie Crawford hosted a night of actors, artists, athletes, designers, models, and the people making the Philippine creative scene worth watching.

For the official launch of GQ Philippines at The Night Club in Okada, the room filled up with precisely that kind of gravity. With Billy Crawford commanding hosting duties while DJ Cupcakes and DJ Roy de Borja spun behind the decks, the evening became an immediate gravitational pull for the country’s most compelling figures across fashion, entertainment, music, sports, and media.

There are parties, and then there are the parties where you keep looking toward the door because you know somebody interesting is about to walk through it. And judging by who actually made it through, GQ Philippines has gathered quite a crowd.

Arthur Nery entered the building, as did Rayver Cruz, Bailey May, Jameson Blake, and Jeric Gonzales. Moving fluidly between the worlds of film, television, and music, the guest list made a convincing argument that the best nights happen when nobody stays in their designated lane.

The music crowd brought plenty of volume even before the DJs got properly going. Joining us were members of ALAMAT, while BGYO representatives Akira Morishita, Gelo Rivera, Mikki Claver, Nate Porcalla, and JL Toreliza were also on hand. Singers from all across the local scene such as Jason Dy, Rob Deniel, and Yael Yuzon rounded out a crowd that could probably turn the party into its own festival lineup.

Fashion, naturally, brought its own heavy-hitting contingent. Designers Aj Javier and Syndrome Supply’s Zeno Cruz were among those who checked in, rubbing shoulders with the photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and creative directors who dictate the country’s visual landscape. JV Rabano, Archie Geotina, Karl King Aguña, and Borgy Angeles were also vital components of the night’s aesthetic ecosystem.

Then there were the faces crossing over from sports, digital culture, and the next generation of talent, with actors such as Gab Lagman and Jeff Moses among the names adding a little competitive energy to the room. Meanwhile, models and creators including LA Aguinaldo, Bianca Ferro, Sunil and Suraj Aku, and Christian Bootle made sure there was plenty to look at once the cameras came out.

Adding an extra layer of star power, digital icons Niana Guerrero, Ralph de Leon, and AZ Martinez arrived just in time to elevate the room’s collective frequency.

By the time GQ Philippines spotted Maki, he was already chatting with siblings and actors Mavy and Cassy Legaspi and was making their way toward the dance floor.

The GQ Philippines launch is both a launch party and a snapshot of the people currently moving Philippine culture forward, which, really, is exactly where GQ wants to be.
