For the GQ Philippines grand launch dinner, Cabauatan flipped the script, trading quiet introspection for a masterclass in kinetic editorial design.

“I actually had a 2-in-1 set for my concept,” Cabauatan shares. “I wanted to do the classic, timeless GQ look and something more contemporary with the stroboscopic execution.”

The result was a masterstroke of contrast. Her first vignette anchored the room in high-end tradition—a warm, deeply textured setup rich with wood accents and curated sports props that felt effortlessly classic. Here, guests were invited to channel their inner athlete, striking dynamic action poses that subverted traditional formalwear.

Then came the flash of genius. For her second concept, Cabauatan used a brilliant stroboscopic technique, layering multiple exposures in real time to trap motion in a single frame. The resulting images—blurring the lines between digital precision and analog soul—didn’t just capture the party; they electrified it.
